BIM Implementation

BIM means different things to different organisations. We focus on taking the process and making it work with your current setup. Thankfully so much of what is required in the UK is made clear and there is a wealth of information to help you achieve your goals. Sadly, that support system can feel impenetrable and we aim to make it as clear and understandable as possible while avoiding the typical pitfalls we see all the time.

Model Authoring and Auditing

Working with your production and design team, designtech will ensure the deliverables you submit will pass the required Client and/or BIM standards. We have customised tools to build on existing industry standard tools allowing us to run automated validation checks on drawings, models and data to check their compliance.

Achieving Level 2 BIM

In the UK, the Government has mandated a Level 2 delivery on publicly procured projects. What this has meant on the ground is that private clients of all types are beginning to ask for a similar approach and for the associated deliverables at the end of the project. We focus on what is required and use our experience to aid you in hitting your obligations as well as putting you in the best position to gain accreditation.

Standards and Process Training

BIM is a process and as such has multiple interpretations depending on geography, sector and client type. At designtech we help your business understand how to establish the fundamental requirements while maintaining the core of what makes your company what it is. Our focus on enabling many of your existing internal processes to fit into a BIM workflow will improve ease of implementation as well as allowing you to work with your clients and design team more effectively.

Clash Detection Support

Along with our predefined rulesets, for both Navisworks and Solibri, we offer access to our custom built workflows for transferring views from Navisworks to the authoring tool Revit. This enables a more defined workflow to addressing clashes in the project and allows all consultants to input into the process.
